Whale watching

Today was a fine sunny day, once more, so finally we went to the port to board a boat. In the old fisherboat harbour of Los Christinos are a couple of boats which offer whale watching tours...
First we saw dolphins, bottle-nose dolphins as we were told...Then we spent a long time scanning the horizon, which is actually hard work after a while......but we were rewarded with the sighting of a pilot whale, which swam with the boat for a while. After such a hard-working day :-) we spent the early evening in our favorite beach bar, listened to the lounge music, enjoyed a couple of "sun-downers" and admired the colors of the evening sun sinking into the waves of the Atlantic Ocean..

Las Galletas

This day we went for a walk to Las Galletas, known for the many good fish restaurants (well, there isn't much more in this small village).
On the way we had a very good coffee at the beach bar of one of the five-star hotels along the coast, the Bahia del Duque. Then we reached Las Galletas, had to choose a restaurant which wasn't an easy task...
Eventually we entered a rather small one which looked very authentic and had a mix of grilled fish and shellfish.
It was a good but hearty meal, which had to be followed by coffee and a Carlos I., in a warmed glass, of course :-)It was a perfect sunset we saw on the way home..an almost Caribbean feeling.

Los Christianos

Los Christianos is a small village on a hill, overlooking a bay with a harbour. Lots of fishing boats and a couple of ferries start from here each day.
This is the daily harbour view from our roof terrace, I could only stay here all the time and watch the bay.
But a group of people decided to remind me of my sporting past...
...so we grabbed the hiking boots and went uphill for exercise.
And after working hard to reach this extreme altitude (of < 400meters:-)...
...a cold drink was necessary and fortunately a sunset bar with chillout music and lounge chairs overlooking the sea is just around the corner.
