Day 3

Today after school I went to climb up Telegraph Hill and take some photos. On the hill there is the Coit Tower which offers an amazing view of the city and the bay.

Here are the pics:

This is downtown with the finance district.

View in the direction of Oakland.

Down there is Fishermans Wharf. And the island is...? Right, Alcatraz!

In the distance we see the Golden Gate Bridge..

Day 2

In the morning I visited the school for the first time. It was nice, though the chairs are very tight...

In the first break I discovered that the school is next to Chinatown.

Then I had a second breakfast...

In the afternoon we had a small walking tour and got some useful insider advices (please notice the blue sky: it's sunglasses time).

Hilly city

The city is built on many hills. I guess I don't want to sign up for the city marathon here :-)

Now I'm in SF

Well, I was very tired, but the first impression was not the best. It was grey and cold and there are alot of homeless and beggars on my way...

But on on the second glance I found out that I arrived in shoppers paradise. So many shops and shopping centers and one is bigger than the other...this is going to be funny :-)

Glass house

A view on the backside of the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus. This house is part of the new suite of parliament buildings next to the Reichstag and it hosts offices and some scientific facilities like the library. To create a feeling of transparency for the work of the german parliament (the Bundestag) the architects designed the houses to provide as much insight as possible. That was somehow successful through using all the glass walls.
Although I have to admit that I usually don't see anybody working in there :-)
