New York - Day 11

The weather wasn't much better on Tuesday, but once more we decided to spend the day outside. Chinatown was picked as the area to explore. So we went there by the subway express train line Q, which is pretty convinient, took just some minutes. When we surfaced again we where in a Chinese city :-)

Interesting to see, nothing special to report, though. We went on along the Hudson, came to the Lower East Side. The area became more Jewish, judged by the street names and the shop offers. Similar to Chinatown the buildings looked as if they had a long life already...
And finally we found some street ball parks, sort of a signature of New York.
If in the Lower East Side one has to make sure not to miss the most famous restaurant of that area: Katz's Delicatessen, mentioned in every travel guide.
They serve Jewish food like Pastrami Sandwiches. We didn't know what to expect but ordered four of them and looked for a table.
There's one special table in that room and we made it there: the very table where Meg Ryan had the probably most famous fake orgasm, in the movie "Harry and Sally" :-)
We were a little bit quieter than Sally, had our mouth full with the giant and hearty sandwich. One of it would have been absolutely sufficient to feed the four of us.

There are other famous Jewish specialty shops in this neighborhood, but we weren't able to eat anything more :-)
After visiting some more fashion stores around Houston Street we went home and prepared for dinner.
Dinner today was very special: we went to one of the best steakhouses of NYC, Wolfgang's.
After enjoying the best steak of our lives and even a perfectly delicious New York cheesecake we rolled home, having gained several additional kilos weight on just a single day :-)
