Today I hopped on the Star Ferry again. Took a picture of the Causeway Bay waterfront, where I live. The building with the spiked hat is Sino Plaza. I live right behind it, basically where the crane is. My building is just visible behind the crane.
After a very good lunch - some kind of soup, sirloin steak and milk tea - I wanted to visit the Hong Kong Museum of History. It is in East Tsim Sha Tsui.
The history of Hong Kong was surprisingly well presented, absolutely non-boring. The exhibition starts with the landscape and nature part, then there came the first humans.
Later it showed the tribal life and the evolution along the several Chinese Dynasties. I liked the part about the cultural background, like the Chinese Opera.
Then, of course, it went on to the Opium Wars and the cession of Hong Kong to the British Empire. Not quite the cleanest chapter of the British History.
After visiting the museum I had planned to watch a movie in a cinema in Causeway Bay. But the 3-hour history lesson was enough input for today. So I crossed the harbour again..
...and had a simple Taiwanese dinner at home: Taiwanese noodle soup, sour and spicy soup and fried pork dumplings.
