Airport life

That's life at the airport: one half of the passengers is in a hurry to reach the gate on time and the other half hangs out, bored, in the seats, waiting for the call for boarding. Yesterday I belonged to the second half most of the time because the flight was delayed.
It's again Frankfurt airport, even though it looks like anywhere else in the world.

Sunday morning breakfast

That was really good. Although I tried to eat only a little bit of every dish from the breakfast/lunch buffet I had to surrender to the Tiramisu.. No need for dinner on that day :-)

Airport

I don't know how many airports I've seen so far...all look the same. This one is Frankfurt Airport, one of the busiest airports in Europe (I guess I could have told that the picture shows an airport in South Africa and nobody would question it ;-)
Even though it's only a short flight from Berlin to Frankfurt I don't like one day round trips. There is only effort and no fun...

Sunset in the city

Next try of creating a HDR image: today's sunset in the streets of Berlin. Not as romantic as a beach sunset but still beautiful.

Cold but sunny day

Finally the sky was blue again..no clouds. So I was able to see that there is heavy traffic up there.
Although it was nice and sunny there is no sign of the spring yet. The sun still has plenty of work to do...

Cats and dogs

He was so peaceful and happy. It has been a very beautiful day so far. He had fun in the park. Now he was quiet, allowing the humans to have dinner.
But then, as always, a female caused trouble :-) Feeling safe behind the window the little cat provoked the bigger dog. It seemed that she enjoyed it....

On the highway

Sitting on a comfortable chair for a couple of hours and just holding the steering wheel can be boring and exhausting at the same time. Especially when the sky is monotonous grey and the countryside looks uninspiring. However, it was a nice car, we became friends :-)

Sightseeing in February

Usually you stay home on a day like this. Grey and rainy and a temperature below zero...this is not the perfect day for a sightseeing walk. I did, though. We came across the Brandenburg Gate which is THE townmark of Berlin.
Not very surprising: nobody occupied the open air tables :-)

Around Potsdamer Platz there were signs of the Berlinale, the annual film festival, everywhere.
The Sony center was crowded as usual.

The roof is one of the most fascinating constructions in Berlin.

Somebody paid for artificial sunlight, great idea..how much is it? :-)

The Berliner Dom looks majestic at any time of the day...

Winter Wonderland

When the snow is wet and sticky the trees look like artwork. It's like driving through wonderland. Photos were taken this morning...

Wow, it's so easy. It takes only 2 minutes to create this nice drawing of the photo below. As always it's a matter of the right software :-)

The photo shows the Bode Museum, one of the museums on the Museumsinsel (museum island). It had been closed for six years of reconstruction before it reopened last October. This and the other museums on the island are a must for a visitor of Berlin. Many years ago I went there and saw an Egyptian mummy (this is the only thing from the exhibition which I remember, shame on me :-).
