Excessive labor

It looks so innocent but even a computer with not much more than office applications can be a terrible slaveholder. I know it, I'm its galley slave these days :-)

Capital beach

Actually it is not a real beach, there is no sand. Nevertheless it's a nice bar right next to the water and with a perfect view of the Berlin sunset. The building in the background is the German chancellery, the office of Angela Merkel.
Comfortable beach chairs, electronic lounge music and cold drinks are exactly the right things to help stressed business men to unwind in the evening, after a successful business day :-)
It's located on the river bank just opposite to the Hauptbahnhof.
This is how it looked after sunset (about 10pm and still not dark) and it's still very crowded. Am I the only one to get up early in the morning? :-)

Summer pics

Just a couple of summer pics taken today. The first one shows the backside of the German ministry of economics on the bank of the river Spree (or one of its channels).
Same place, different angle. On the left hand side, under the trees, is a small but very nice restaurant.
This is the Hamburger Bahnhof, the Berlin museum of contemporary art (or Berlin MOMA:-). It shows artwork of Anselm Kiefer, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein for example.
The building is a former train station for northbound trains (e. g. to Hamburg, therefore the name).
The sky looks amazing today, clouds are like paintings (well, the picture is not really good...).

Alter ego

Sometimes it is fun to switch to virtual reality. One of the nicest places, at least for men :-), is the world of Guild Wars. The picture shows one of my characters who is a Dervish, sort of a fighting monk, equipped with a deadly scythe. After two hours of slashing demons the whole stressful business day is completely forgotten...
And by the way, the art design of this game is terrific..

Animals on a cold day

The storck couple decided to stay home on such a day. And I need a zoom lens...
There is a species which enjoys the cold and wet ground. They are everywhere, sliding their way at one kph or less.
Hurry, take shelter....the hungry storck is coming :-)
And last but not least my favorite topmodel, as always with cute ears.

City highway

Compared to the highways in the American cities it's rather small, but at least Berlin has a highway. Or in German: Stadtautobahn (Germans love compound words :-). Usually it is not a good idea to enter it during the rush-hour. But at off-peak times it is a nice way to avoid the ten million traffic lights of Berlin and to enjoy a constant speed for more than a minute.
One part of the Berlin city highway is called AVUS (yes, it's in Wikipedia;-). Actually it is a former racing circuit. The photo shows the old stands on the right-hand side.
Here is the sign of the exit Hüttenweg, which leads to a couple of small lakes and Berlins most famous track for inline skaters, the Kronprinzessinenweg (nice compound word again!).
For most of its length the AVUS looks like this...
