Spring is in the air

First signs of spring everywhere, the color green is back in my life!! :-)
These pictures were taken last weekend, now it almost looks as if it's summer already..

Nobody wants to stay at home when the miracle of the springtime is performed by nature..parks are way overcrowded...understandable, it's probably the best time of the year...

Barcelona views

I made too many pictures, again. But since it was already a month ago I have to finish this topic Barcelona. So not a place and a time here but just my final choice of the entire trip.
View from Montjuic along the coast on each side, here south over the passenger hrbor Port Vell..
..and north across the goods harbor..View from a boat ride along the coast, first one next to the Olympic harbor.....next one of Barcelonetta.
Eventually some boat pictures without further explanation:-)

Gaudi Part 3

The definitely last post about Gaudi places, this time the Parc Guell. Gaudi didn't just design churches and houses, sometimes he did parks as well (including the houses..naturally).
This place is the probably most crowded of Barcelona, hope the buildings are visible behind the people in the pictures..

The famous terrace with a beautiful view across the city and the sea. I wonder how many visitors it can bear.
The doorhouse again.
Visitors, visitors, visitors...just like me :-)
It was the first warm and sunny day of the week.....so everybody was enjoying it.

Gaudi Part 2

A couple of pictures from a visit to La Pedrera, another one of Gaudis most famous building. This was actually finished and served as a home to a rich family.
Strangely I took no pictures from the outside, just inside and on the roof, something I mentioned only right now after sorting through the Barcelona pictures.

However, let's start with the roof, which is indeed a remarkably one. Not sure how to describe it, it's pure Gaudi: no symmetry, no straight lines.

From this elevated viewpoint it was interesting to see that almost every roof in Barcelona has its terrace. Well, it's a sunny place...

Inside the house there are offices but the 5th level apartment is open to visit. It is furnished in the way apartments looked hundred years ago, including some pieces from Gaudi itself..
The dining room......a room where I would write my memoirs :-)
..a bathroom...
..and a Gaudi chair...not for loving couples I guess, maybe a place to cool down after an argument :-)
