Oberhof

The place visible between the trees is the small village of Oberhof. The large building in the shape of two ski jumps there is the Panorama hotel where I stayed in the 9th floor... It took a very long walk uphill to get this photo :-)

Frozen trees

And it was really really cold...at last for me as a city resident :-)

Away in the forrest

Just some impressions from the winterly Thüringer Wald. The probably most famous German hiking trail, the Rennsteig, leads 168 km along the crestline of the hills.
We just went for a 9 hours 20km walk, where I nearly lost my nose and ears because of the iciness.
Signs of the woodcutters....
...there was even a memorial.
View from the Schneekopf, at about 980 meters.

Train stations: Dresden again

The iron horse patiently waits in its stable. Well fed, it is ready to gallop a long distance at over 250 kilometers per hour, carrying lots of peoples reading their books or looking out in the night..

Hotel room Dresden

A really nice room, I didn't spend much time in it, though. I didn't even enjoy the sweets on the bedside table, how sad... ;-)

The old man

Lebanon 2003: the old remains of the crusaders fortress Tripoli, couple of miles north of Beirut, are UNESCO World Heritage. Students from allover the world join the archaeologists doing the excavations. Some of them have the job to clean the artifacts like the three of them in the picture.
What is the old man thinking? The longer I look at the picture the more possible situations I imagine....

Spring?

The sun pays a visit to Berlin this weekend, is it the Spring already? Anyway, it's a nice change from the grey days during the last weeks...

Fussballspiel

The local soccer team Hertha BSC lost 0:3 to Eintracht Frankfurt due to very poor performance. The weather changed from sunlight to ice pellet. Nothing else to report...
