Day 49

Because we were at home at 4am this morning, our planned trip for today was an hour delayed. So we started 1pm for a walk along the coast. After taking the bus 38 to the end we enjoyed the amazing view from Sutro Heights Park. I was there for the third time and for me it's still one of the best views in San Francisco. Then we went north, along the Pacific coast. After a couple of miles we reached one of the most expensive neighborhoods of S.F., the quarter next to the famous street "Camino Del Mar". If I had the money, I definitely would buy one of the houses here.
After some more miles we reached Baker Beach. This time it wasn't so crowded. Altough it was a very sunny and nice day, the beach season is already over.
Then the Golden Gate bridge came into sight.
To reach the bridge we had to cross the parking lot of the bridge staff. There it seemed that the income of the bridge workers must be very low. They can only afford small motorcycles :-)
Here's the bridge from the other side again.
And because of the strong demand here's a photo of me :-). It's on the brigde, in the background you can see Alcatraz and downtown.
The sun was very low already when we reached the city again. The last touristic action for today was having a clam chowder soup in a sourdough bread bowl in Fishermans Wharf, one of the signature dishes of S.F.
