Looking for some tasty seafood and cocktails we headed for the famous Pier 39 on Fisherman's Wharf today. It's very nice and lovely, but maybe someone else would decribe it as a tourist trap.
We entered Bubba Gump because it looked interesting, the tables had seaview (Alcatraz and the yacht harbor) and both of us liked the movie Forrest Gump. I didn't know that the movie company really created this restaurant chain after they made the movie. Maybe a typical American success story. However, we had so many "Shrimps New Orleans Style" (charcoal grilled and spicy) that it nearly became a health issue :-) The cocktails were great as well..
Of course there were so many things from the movie. For example they had these number plates on each table. If you need service you can flap it to "STOP FORREST STOP".
