Wolfsburg

Actually Wolfsburg is not a city but a huge plant with some houses for the workers in front of it (ok, maybe some residents disagree). The plant (and the city) had been initially built to produce a small and cheap car for the Germans. During the war it produced military cars and later it became the headquarter of the Volkswagen Group and home of the famous VW Beetle. These days they assemble the VW Golf and some others. As far as I remember they assemble here up to 4000 cars each day!
On the picture there is one of the power stations (which supply the city as well) and the entrance to the harbor. Far in the back there is the high building of the research department.
I can recommend a factory tour (I guess it's one of the biggest factories in the world) and a visit to the automobile museum.
